E3! in Community
Giving back to the community in which we live and work is an important part of our business and personal values at E3!
E3! Community Support: ACT for Kids
We are a family focused business and as many of us at E3! are parents of young children we wanted to help a charitable cause that supports children in the community.
ACT for Kids does just that.
ACT for Kids is a charity that works to treat and prevent child abuse.
- Did you know that more than 55,000 individual children are affected by child abuse in Australia every single year. That’s 1 child every 10 minutes who is suffering from neglect or physical, sexual or emotional abuse (often by people they know and should be able to trust).
- Many of these kids get no professional help whatsoever, and end up with lifelong problems.
- But a small few find themselves at an ACT for Kids centre. They give children all the skills, care and confidence they need to turn their tiny hearts around and lead a normal life. They’re also there for mums and dads, healing the hurt that abuse and domestic violence causes the whole family.

E3! has provided more than $50,000 in donations and support to ACT for kids in the past year alone and as a silver sponsor we look forward to helping more in the coming years.
E3! also partners with ACT for Kids to provide ongoing artwork and marketing support for ACT's bi-monthly fundraising lottery brochure. (something that used to cost them around $35,000 a year, now that we provide this service free of charge they can channel that money in to helping more children and families)

E3! extended support to Emmaus Aged Care:
We all have grandparents and we will be aging and need help from someone like Emmaus one day so we volunteered to help them with a gardening project:
E3! team gardening at Emmaus Aged Care centre.
E3! Directors Richard Chen & Vanessa Garrard paid the team for the day and the whole Brisbane E3! team went out and helped Emmaus Aged Care Centre to plant new gardens for their aged residents:

Vanessa Garrard and Michell Stemmett were both heavily pregnant (both over 7 months pregnant) and still rolled up their sleeves to help out! Cudos ladies! Just shows that anyone can help out if they really want to!
E3! Environment Support:
E3! is a partner for Landcare Australia.
This partnership program will see E3! donate over $60,000 to Landcare Australia to help them with their community environment programs.
Noosa Landcare carried out a kids environmental education day with proceeds from the cause related marketing campaign.
27 Kids from Pomona Primary School in grades 6/7 and 53 kids from Cooroy State School was involved in the day. Although weather didn't permit them to planting they went to the Rural Futures Centre.
The kids made possum dreys and learned that WILVOS (The Wildlife Volunteers Association Inc) help possums reabilitate and recover to get them ready to return to the wild. When the kids saw a real drey next tot eh Rural Futures Centre they wanted to know how it got up there and soon learned that possums make their nests and they just make the dreys to help them when they are too sick to do it themselves.
The kids then had the opportunity to do water bug sorting. They had worksheets that the Waterwatch volunteer Mari put together for water bugs and water quality. The kids tested the water and using water quality monitoring kits, testing turbidity, PH, temperature and dissolved oxygen. They used physical and chemical parameters as well as the sensitivity of the bugs to conclude that Cooroora Creek was very healthy, in that it was able to support a wide range of aquatic macro invertebrates, including very sensitive bugs.
The kids indulged in sandwhiches and some birthday cake from one of the volunteers
At the end of the day Phil Moran, NRM of NDLC showed the kids slideshows of weeds, snakes and frogs as well as before and after photos. This was very important for the kids as these were photos from near where the kids live and places they visit regularly such as the Lower Mill Site which was reabilitated near Cooroy library.
The Green army managed to plant 200 of the trees, shrubs and grasses later that week and the local Bushcare group at Cooroora Park finished planting the remaining 200 lomandra around the perimeter.
Volunteers Mari, Wendy, Robyn and Roslyn all received certificates or appreciation and the WILVOS received a $300 donation for helping on the day
